Navteq announced its selection by Centrl to enable its location-based social network with LocationPoint, a mobile location-based advertising service. Centrl, based in New York City, is a social network that connects users with nearby places and people that match their interests, on smartphone mobile devices and social networking sites.
LocationPoint advertising provides Centrl’s application with additional content enabling advertisers to reach consumers where and when they are making shopping and purchasing decisions. Centrl users can search for nearby merchants and restaurants, and the business locations are displayed on Navteq maps. Merchant services and special offers are advertised along with features such as click-to-call, route, and text.
